DEPRESSION

You don’t have to live with depression. When you’re struggling with it, it can be hard to focus on anything for very long. Here at Sal Rediscovery, we have helped many who are in the exact position you are right now: dealing with depression and looking for improvement. Depression, contrary to how it may seem, really is treatable. We can create a personalized treatment plan for your depression and any other symptoms you may be suffering. That way, you can get the best treatment for your needs.

Depression Symptoms (in Addition to Sadness)

Yes, if you’re sad/hopeless for more than two weeks, you very well may be depressed. However, other symptoms of depression include no longer enjoying activities that you used to love, struggling to focus, poor memory, or even finding it harder to make decisions. Physical symptoms of depression can include feeling persistent stomach aches, headaches, or even sexual issues. You may feel tired or like you just don’t have any energy. Some eat too much, some practically starve. Maybe you sleep far more than you used to or perhaps you can’t sleep at all. If you’ve experienced more than one of these symptoms, it’s worth it to reach out to professionals.

Depression Causes

For many, depression is triggered by a difficult life event. Losing a loved one, a job, feeling isolated, trauma, or other negative events can make one feel depressed. However, for many others, it could be in their genetics, their brain chemistry. That doesn’t mean that those who are experiencing depression due to the latter are unable to be helped, far from it. No matter the cause of your depression, when you reach out to us at Sal Rediscovery, we’ll perform a thorough evaluation of you, your history, your health, and more. With that info, we’ll make a depression treatment plan for you.

Evidence-Based Depression Therapy

While every treatment plan at Sal Rediscovery is different from the last, just about all of them include some form of therapy. Through therapy, we’ve helped many to learn and strengthen the kind of coping skills that make it possible for them to better manage their depression, their triggers, and their life. A significant portion of this: we don’t treat your depression symptoms in isolation. Rather, we treat the underlying causes of your depression, the traumas that drive them. Through that, you can be empowered both in the short and long term.

PHP, IOP, and More

To be able to help as many with depression as possible, at Sal Rediscovery, we offer multiple levels of care. Our PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program), for example, is our highest level of care. You spend the most hours at our facility multiple days a week. During this time, you’ll receive therapy, learning sessions, life skills development, and so much more. For those who would benefit from a different level of care, we offer our “Intensive Outpatient Program” (IOP). While you’ll spend fewer hours here than those in the PHP, this program is indeed “intensive,” so as to meet the needs of our patients.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Other Treatments

“Treatment-resistant depression” is, unfortunately, exactly what it sounds like: a form of depression that hasn’t really responded to previous treatments. Through Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (“TMS”), we can use modern technology to provide safe, non-invasive treatment for depression that gets real results quickly (without side effects). This is just one of the many cutting-edge treatments we offer for depression, there are others. When you reach out to us, we’ll go over your options and find the right ones for you.

It is Possible to Be Happier

Depression can negatively impact just about every aspect of your life. If you’ve found that it’s holding you back from the life that you want, then it’s time to reach out for help. We have a proven track record of using evidence-based treatments to help those whose depression seems like it just won’t go away. To see how we can help, message us through our site or call.
